SAVE ON FEED COSTS, WHILE MAKING YOUR HORSE MUCH HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER. IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO BOTH?
TAKE A LOOK AT THE SECOND HALF OF THIS PAGE FOR ACTUAL ANALYSIS AND CALCULATIONS....If you want to read my story, keep reading on... EQUILIFE PLUS (or EQUILIFE GOLD, which is Equilife Plus and joint supplements combined) was recommended to me by the stallion's trainer, Robert Griswold of Olympia, Washington. My stallion, Markese competes in Combined Driving and the demands on him physically and mentally are very high. He trains 2 hours a day (and has been doing so for almost a year) pulling a carriage that weighs over 400 lbs, in an arena and cross-country. What we discovered was that despite the premium pelleted "complete feed" grain he was being fed, he still was running out of energy. Plus, despite the hard physical work, he still was a little cresty and had a layer of fat over his body, that was just a little too much, and would not come off.
We didn't want to put him on anything that would make him "hot" and I was concerned that he not be fed anything that would encourage insulin resistance or laminitis. My trainer suggested a feeding regimen that he used when eventing FEI level horses...Equilife Plus and whole oats. Sounded pretty simple to me and I trust this trainer.
So, I went looking for this product. It was very hard to find and not well known, but I located it. We put Markese on Equilife Plus, 2 ounces a day, and 2 pounds of whole oats. This is fed with good quality grass hay. Within a month, the changes were astounding. Crest was down to pure muscle, and that little layer of fat was gone. You can see every fiber of every muscle. His amazing temperament remains calm and willing, and he seems to not be foraging for food all of the time. And, most of all, he has plenty of energy and seems to be feeling really good.
I was so impressed that I starting my 2 nursing Thoroughbred broodmares (who are very hard keepers and tend to be hot) and their 2 babies on Equlife Plus and oats. WOW. Dams that were a little ribby and always starving, started to put on weight. Babies loved their Equilife, and coats became thick and lovely for winter. Old Quarterhorse, age 24, who was really showing his age and starting to get a little sway backed, regained much of his red color (that had been turning gray) and looks more muscled and fit than I have seen him for at least 5 years. Then, a new mare came to me that had just weaned a baby and was pregnant. She was a little ribby and was thin along the topline. She put her weight back on and became an even blacker black in less than a month. My only horse who was looking fine and keeps herself pretty fit, an Azteca mare, just became more beautiful...richer bay coat, more muscled, better attitude, less "snippy".
It appears to me, from just about 6 months experience with this product that the horses feel better, look better, are not hungry all of the time, keep their weight normal (whether they were thin or fat to begin with), and have plenty of energy in the tank...without being "hot".
AND IT COSTS LESS TO FEED THIS WAY
Whole Oats cost about $8.00 less per 50 lb bag than most pelleted complete feeds, and you use about the same number of pounds per month. Don't use grains? You can put your Equilife Plus right on the hay, on some beet pulp, or rice bran, if you prefer. (But don't mix it with other things that have vitamin and mineral supplements as over supplementing can cause damage to your horse).
Equilife Plus costs $45.00 a gallon (128 ozs), plus $12.00 shipping=$56.00 (which is a 4 months supply for one horse not in heavy exercise)...so $14.00 per month, or 47 cents a day.
Equilife Gold costs $79.99 per gallon, plus $12.00 shipping=$91.99 (which is usually a 2 month supply, but can last up to 4 months, depending on how much of the joint supplement your horse needs to keep comfortable). Anyway, at the 2 month calculation, it comes out to $45.99 per month...for both the vitamin and joint supplement together!!! Most joint supplements alone cost more than that.
And I find that I am feeding about 1/4th less hay. If I feed more, they leave it and make a mess.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU FOUND SOMETHING THAT WOULD IMPROVE THE CONDITION OF YOUR HORSE, AND SAVE YOU MONEY?
Equilife Gold is Equilife Plus and joint supplements together. Take a look at the label and compare it to your present supplement...it will save you money there too and eliminate one more thing you have to measure and pour in the bucket. Plus, since it is liquid, it sticks to the oats and you won't loose your expensive joint supplement powder to the bottom of the bucket.
I am so sold on Equilife Plus that I have become a dealer. I want to pass on this information and wonderful product to everyone who loves horses and wants to improve their equine partner's life and health, while saving money for other things...like bridles, saddles, trucks, trailers, shows, etc. :)
